The Vibe Summit: A Celebration of Collaboration
The ‘good vibes’ were in full swing at our recent Vibe Summit, a dynamic gathering where people, unity and culture took centre stage. Over two vibrant days at the Stamford Plaza, Mascot, staff came together for a journey of growth, connection, and culture-building. With insightful presentations, invigorating team-building exercises, and the thrill of competitive go-kart racing, the Vibe Summit wasn’t just an event—it was a vibrant celebration of the importance of work culture and staff camaraderie.
An initiative of Preston Group, the Vibe Summit kicked off with a presentation from Preston Group ♾ COO David Serg, who provided an insightful overview of the history of the Preston Group of Companies, setting a strong foundation for the discussions that were to follow. Building on this momentum, Preston Group ♾ CEO Markus Preston outlined the business plan for the next two years, clearly defining the focus and strategy that will guide the company’s direction in the immediate future.
After a delicious lunch, the team’s competitive spirit was ignited as they headed to Hyper Karting in Moore Park. Divided into three groups, the staff raced through two intense heats, with the fastest karters competing in a thrilling final. Congratulations to Steve Bowden for taking first place, Gabe Preston for securing second, and Callum Manderson for clinching third. Fun awards, like Jenny Grosvenor’s win for best helmet hair, added a humorous touch to the day. The evening concluded with dinner at La Boca Bar and Grill, known for its authentic Argentinian cuisine.
As the second day began, the focus shifted to collaboration, with a team-building exercise called “Beat the Box” facilitated by Be Challenged. This engaging activity highlighted the importance of teamwork, as staff had to work together, not only within their groups but across tables to solve complex puzzles. This shared experience underscored a key takeaway: achieving the best outcomes requires cooperation and effective communication. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the introduction of two new systems set to streamline business operations and then an open forum, providing staff with the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.
“The Vibe Summit reinforced our core values of unity, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Preston Group of Companies,” said Preston Group ♾ CEO Markus Preston. “The overwhelmingly positive feedback has highlighted the importance of such initiatives and motivated us to continue organising events that not only engage but also empower our teams. As we move forward, the lessons and bonds forged during this summit will ensure that our teams remain connected, motivated, and excited about the future of the Preston Group of Companies.”
