We are thrilled to celebrate Dennis Apted’s remarkable 20-year milestone with the Preston Group! Since joining us on 5 January 2005 as a Structural Draftsman, Estimator, and Workshop Supervisor, Dennis has been instrumental in our growth, shaping our operations with unparalleled dedication and expertise.

In the early years, Dennis tackled a wide range of responsibilities in Preston Hire, from planning structural steel jobs and drafting SuperDeck® designs to managing freight and invoicing. By 2008, his role expanded to overseeing car stacker and turntable installations while supporting the launch of our mini cranes division. In 2009, Dennis played a pivotal role in taking our SuperDecks to the U.S., providing essential design and logistical support as the business stepped onto the global stage. With Preston Hire beginning to centre its focus on our SuperDeck® and crane fleets by 2010, Dennis took on operations roles, helping refine risk assessments, work method statements, and standard operating procedures. His expertise was critical during key transitions, including the relocation of our Queensland branch from Helensvale to Underwood in 2015.

In 2017, Dennis became a part of the newly established Preston Group where he has been instrumental in providing operations support to all Preston Hire Australia, New Zealand and North American operations. Dennis continues to drive excellence in this current role by updating machine packs, crane lift plans, and training manuals while managing assets across our global branches. His contributions extend to client support, training sales teams, and overseeing international freight. Landmark projects like the Samsung building in Texas and deck installations on Canadian ships underscore his lasting impact and innovation and are professional highlights Dennis holds dear and that we are all very proud of!

Looking ahead, Dennis is excited about the potential for continued expansion in the U.S. and Canada—a vision we are equally thrilled to pursue.
