Materials handling training session for Bovis Lend Lease Apprentice Peer Group exceeded expectations and raised awareness and understanding.

Steve Bowden, branch manager of Preston Silverwater, conducted a presentation to 25 apprentices from Bovis Lend Lease on materials handling, including the feature and benefits of loading platforms like Superdeck.

The response from the attendees and from Glenn Quince the Skills and Development Manager at Bovis Lend Lease was overwhelming and helped to prove Preston’s expertise in this field.

With all the apprentices achieving the goals of the day, due in large part to the quality of Steve’s presentation, Bovis Lend Lease issued a certificate of appreciation for the days efforts. Some of the feedback forms from the apprentices were glowing; “I now have a better awareness on how the platform flexes when loaded and where the pressure is distributed to the props and beams” came from one of the attendees, and shows that the sharing of knowledge in our industry is as important to the future of construction as are the future leaders we help create with our efforts today.
