Preston, your builder project partner Get inspired by the success of Preston's clients through their partnership with Preston. Luxury made simpleAligning our robust loading platforms with luxury on Sydney’s Hyde Park may, at first, seem far-fetched. However, The Residences, Hyde Park, by Hutchinson Builders is finding a perfect match in the Superdeck system. This existing high rise building in Sydney’s CBD, requires the existing structure to be stripped and for the un-wanted material to be removed efficiently and quickly. Hutchinson Builders are then required to add extra levels to the structure, and complete the fit out of the building.
The project is based on a tight time frame, reasonable budget constraints, and of course, a tight working environment. Hutchinson Builders “went with what they know”, according to Michael Petracca, General Foreman on the project. “From Preston Group we expect great service, on time delivery of equipment and the right resources for the job, and that’s what we get”, he says. The supply of Superdeck retractable loading platforms is allowing Michael and Hutchinson Builders to strip multiple floors at one time. As the project progresses the prompt delivery of Superdeck units to site will continue to allow the same multiple floors to have the fit-out materials delivered safely, efficiently and with minimum crane usage. The Residences is a proud project and the ability of Hutchinson Builders to save time, money and resources through the use of Preston Superdeck is a testament to the simple operation and function of our retractable loading platforms. For the month of August 2010, when you hire Superdeck for your site, we will deliver to you FREE of charge. Either book online or, if you prefer to call through, do so on 1800 440 550. Book your Superdeck now and take advantage of this great deal. Expires on 30th August 2010.

The Preston Group reduces costs on HQ Apartment projectAs part of the construction of HQ apartments, developer Milfab and builder Leighton Contractors employed the Preston Groups’ Mini Crawler crane to enable steel to be lifted 35 meters from the ground to the roof area for assembly. The mostly completed HQ site posed spatial challenges requiring the Preston Mini Crawler crane to be disassembled to fit into the buildings service lift for transportation to the top floor. The disassembled crane had a minimum of 40mm clearance throughout the whole operation. The removal of the boom section of the Preston Mini Crawler enabled the team to place the main body of the crane into the service lift, while a custom made trolley transported the Mini Crawler boom section. The reassembly of the Mini Crawler crane was aided by a chain block attached to a support beam on the top floor, allowing the team to manoeuvre the boom into place efficiently and with minimum effort. Peter Esparon of Milfab says the option supplied by employing a Preston Mini crane for this task significantly reduced the costs involved. Mr Esparon suggested the option to Peter McCarthy at the Preston Group who relished the challenge of using a Mini Crawler to erect steel on the roof of this new building. “Access was really tight and we knew we would have to be creative to come up with the solution” says Peter from the Preston Group, “It was great to work with a customer that thinks outside the square and for us to be able to meet the challenge”. The HQ Apartments are located on Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The Preston Mini Crawler crane used for this project is the MC-285 model and is available for viewing on www.prestongroup.com.au |
