In 2000, Markus took over responsibility for the day to day operations of the group as General Manager. Markus built a strong management team around him to expand geographically and grow the product offering. Markus and Marika Preston acquired the Preston Group from John Preston in 2004 and since then has grown revenue and delivered consistently strong earnings results.

Key Management Responsibilities & Objectives:

• Overall responsibility for the group - Australia & North America
• Assist GM in Sales & Marketing initiative
• Strategic Partner Alliance Development - Banks, Accountants, Legal, Advisors
• North America - Sales, Finance & Assist TE in Ops. and sales

Markus Preston started with the Preston Group in 1991. He spent 9 years working in every facet of the company’s operations.

The positions held entailed:

• Supplier and logistics management
• Managing client relationships and tendering
• Management of steel fabrication processes
• Labour management
• Accounting and finance
• Securing, maintaining and managing the Preston Group’s rights over the SuperdeckTM intellectual property.

Markus has completed a practical MBA certificate from the Family Business Australia association and an AICD Company Directors course at the University of NSW, and is now an member of AICD.
